“I am a former secondary art educator for Lee’s Summit School District having taught 32 years and retiring nearly 14 years ago. I graduated from Pittsburg State University with a BS in Education and received my Masters Degree in Painting from UMKC. I primarily taught Drawing and Painting and was an Adjunct Professor for UMKC. I was honored as Lee’s Summit Teacher of Year and Semi- Finalist for Missouri Teacher of the Year. Throughout the years I’ve had numerous art commissions with players from the Chiefs, Royals, and many other national sport professionals including the Woodlands Racetrack. Today I am happily retired and enjoying painting, travel and life with my family and friends. I am most honored knowing that several of my former art students from Lee’s Summit have become successful and were also chosen to be a part of the KC Heart Parade. As an educator it doesn’t get much better than that and I am so proud. (Jenny McCall, Ashley Corbello, Jeremy Collins, Suze Ford, Erica Bennett and Aaron Ross) are names I can think of.”
