Michaela Riley

Spring Hill, KS

I was raised in Kansas City, Kansas and lived in the Brookside area for over 20 years. I now live just south of the metro area. I am a mixed media artist with a leaning towards acrylic and sculpture. Studied art at Penn Valley Community college with Robert Morris and Mary Beth Moley. Bernadette Esperanza Torres was also a strong influence while I was there. I studied drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, and digital art. From my classes, I went on to become a lab assistant in the art department of Penn Valley. Former artist/member of the Northland Exposure Artists Gallery. Current member of Heartland Artists Guild. Accepted into shows at Images Artists Gallery and Heartland Artist’s miniature show. Former Technical Directer of The Bell Road Barn Players. Since 1980 to 2017, I have built, painted, stage managed, been on stage, and hung lights in many of the area community theaters. I used to say I drew my inspiration from nature. I now say I draw my inspiration from life. My goal is to is to help people find joy through art.
