Eugenia Ortiz

Eugenia Ortiz has lived in Kansas since 1991, though originally from Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s in Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing (2001) and a Master’s Degree in Design, with an emphasis in Textiles (2011). Her artwork has been shown nationally and internationally, in several private collections, and won many awards, including the NICHE Award two consecutive years.

Ortiz has been a recipient of two Kansas City Arts Inspiration Grants through the Kansas City Metropolitan Arts Council. An artistic visionary, multi-media artist, she continues to grow and integrate her background in metalsmithing, sculpture, textiles, design, and painting experimenting with new techniques and natural textures and materials. Fascinated by Sacred Geometry, Ortiz integrates into her work hexagons and honeycombs that represent balance, harmony, and the matrix of the Universe. Currently, Ortiz is taking on large-scale Intention Mural commissions for private homes, businesses, and healing spaces. Her expertise is channeling the energy of the client’s intention into a work of art that perfectly represents the energy of that intention and elevates the energy of the space and viewer harmoniously.
