This river landing was connected by a system of trails to what is known today as Westport. The river served as a highway to the west, with steamboats being the main conduit of settlers and supplies for the western expansion.” The Arabia Steamboat Museum is a unique attraction located in the River Market offering an insight to our local history. Beyond the Missouri River, Missouri is home to more than 4400 springs. Over 95 of these tributaries feed into to Missouri River. These waterways are home to a vast array of local wildlife including the Rainbow Trout which is by far the most numerous trout found here.
