Broken Hearted

I created Broken Hearted as a tribute to people in Kansas City that have lost their lives to COVID-19. I lost my sister to COVID and it has been such a unique experience, not getting to say goodbye face-to-face and not even getting to have a normal funeral. The grief journey was very unique and I felt very alone throughout this whole process, despite seeing such large numbers of people that have lost their lives. So I created this piece to show other people in Kansas City that have experienced the same loss that I have gone through that they’re not alone. I wanted to have an opportunity to give a tribute to their loved one as well, and to find some type of healing through the piece.
