Cats of KC
This heart was made as a tribute to Whiskers Cat Café and KC Pet Project. It represents the memory of adopting my cat, Merlin as well as the people in the area that devote their time and efforts to caring for animals that may not have otherwise been cared for. The hope is to make people smile as they pass by and for the bright, colorful imagery to serve as a nod to fellow cat lovers.

Emily Johnson
My name is Emily Johnson. I’m a Kansas City based illustrator and graduate of Kansas City Art Institute. From the start, I’ve always fallen back on art and music as an outlet to express myself and have long since been learning to harness that creativity in a way that’s true to myself. The urge to create has followed me throughout my life and I’m now entering the illustration industry with a passion for visual storytelling, especially sequential narrative. My artwork dips its toes into everything from mundane daily life to vivid daydreams for inspiration. I’m heavily influenced by the music I listen to, poetry, or even cinematography when making my work.
