View ArtistA Cinco de Mayo event and our rich Kansas City culture inspired this artwork. On one side is a young lady wearing a beautiful escaramuza outfit mounted atop her horse. The other side is a vibrant tapestry about stories and experiences of the past, present, and hope for a better future. This artwork celebrates Kansas City’s rich culture, the Latino culture, Indigenous heritage, and includes important landmark illustrations, and history. It also serves as a reminder that there is no hope for the future without land and water.
