Hybrid Hope

Hybrid Hope is a heart for Kansas City. It’s my hope that everyone will realize we’re more than one thing. It’s okay for us to love more than one thing – to be diverse. I have pictured here a bird that looks a little bit like a Griffin or a Phoenix. Griffins portray and protect treasure and our treasure is Kansas City. We are all more than one thing and we’re all creative and stronger together. My heart is all about rising from the ashes and harnessing that power of hope and creativity.
What I’ve been doing during the last two years is making poetry, books – hybrid poetry and art books. I think that a lot of hope and strength comes from being creative and connecting with other people who are creative and celebrating with them.
