Shimmer

Kansas City has a wealth of stunning craftspeople across all mediums and this heart design is a love letter to those craftspeople and the time-intensive works they create. The composition of “Shimmer” is loosely based on the scales of a butterfly’s wings and each surface is painted using the color-blocked designs and each brush stroke is covered with a similarly-colored iridescent vinyl panel. The effect allows for a different experience from every viewing angle and a constantly shifting design based color and direction of light.
