The Many Faces of a Community

The idea of the faces comes from what goes into a community, and that is the people. It takes a lot of people to make a wonderful community and once that community grows into a city, all those people are what builds the foundation into what that city becomes. And to me Kansas City it one great place to both work and live, not for the city itself but for the communities that are located here. Inside this heart, you will see all the faces that go into making a community great; everyone from police and fire fighters to teachers, artist, construction workers, city utilities, coaches, moms & dads, neighbors and everyone in between. And this is what I see every day here in Kansas City, not the city but the people that I interact with daily, making it one heck of a place to live.

Scott McCarthy

I'm a home-grown artist from Kansas City and attended the Kansas City Artist Institute and graduated in 2009 with a BFA in Animation. I moved went all over the country, and lived in Chicago for bit, but found my way back to KCMO to where I knew I belonged. I've had the pleasure to both work and teach here, working at amazing places such as Bazillion Pictures, Liquid 9, Sprint - YellowFan Studios, Dimensional Innovation and now currently work at VMLY&R as Senior Motion Designer. I had the pleasure of teaching the art of Motion Graphics on and off for about 10 years both at KCAI and at KU. I'm currently working with AIGA KC in their mentor-ship program this year, helping young professionals in town with improving themselves and their careers In my spare time, I try to spend as much time as I can with my two daughters and amazing wife Julianne; but I do enjoy bike riding, prop/modeling building, drawing, handcrafting and many many other hobbies
