Ann Johnson is a Kansas City native, artist, and educator. She is an alumnus of Paseo High School. She received a Bachelor’s in Science in Art Education from University of Central Missouri and a Master’s of Arts in Education from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Art has always been a part of her life and continues into her professional life as a high school art teacher in a local charter school. She enjoys working with different media and is never afraid to explore the infinite possibilities within her craft. Acrylic is one of her favorite mediums to work with because it allows her to create a variety of colors and textures on the canvas. She tends to use more vibrant rich colors in her work, sometimes creating a slightly abstract affect. In viewing her work you may notice different shades of pinks, blues, and purples within dynamic rich tones. Her subject matter varies depending on what is inspiring her at the moment.
