John Brown Statue at Quindaro, Kansas City, KS. The oldest statue of John Brown in the United States stands at the Quindaro Townsite in Kansas City, Kansas, on the northwest corner of North 27th Street and Sewell Avenue Roadside America. It is the only surviving structure from the historic Quindaro settlement, which was once a Free State port-of-entry, an Underground Railroad station, and home to the first Black school west of the Mississippi, Western University.
