A Light in the Darkness

My work represents through words and images all the characteristics that should be reflected in our society. It exemplifies the idea of finding peace through the images of a dove and a peace sign surrounded in native flora of the midwest. It is a wish to make the world a better place using imagery with multiple meanings like the monarch butterfly, dandelion, or the lit candle raised to light the way.

Kathryn Hodge Messick

My name is Kathryn Messick and I am a 21 year teaching veteran in the visual arts for public schools in Missouri. I am a working artist in Kansas City and use floral designs, pollinators, and concepts of equality and unity throughout my work. I love using bright colors and gold metallics to bring attention to design and to create a unique look that sets my work apart from others.
