Before the Prairies
Before Kansas had its prairies, it was part of the Western Interior Seaway and was home to many ancient marine animals and pterosaurs. Kansas has been the source of important marine fossils and paleontologists. With these discoveries, we can see what things looked like before the prairies.

I am a mixed media artist best known for detailed pen and ink illustrations. Originally from Indiana, I moved to Kansas City to study at KCAI and have called Kansas City home ever since. My work revolves around nature and science, intending to encourage curiosity and connection with our natural world.
