He brought life and color to our communities and is still celebrated today. The design hopes to provoke younger generations to ask who this man is and learn about him and his influence.

Shannon Kay Lewis is an American Visual Artist born in Kansas City. Shannon was raised in a large family of creators, and developed a passion for irregular use of color, surface and materials. Early and persistent exposure to diverse creative minds has brought Shannon to view the world as a gallery and the humans within as evolving works of Art. Shannons approach to painting is reflective of her in-depth study of graphic design and her penchant for vast and exploratory color palettes. Shannon is well known in the Chicago Art community, and this is her first public work of Art in her hometown of Kansas City.
