Downtown Time
Downtown Time is from a painting I did of downtown Lee’s Summit. It features the area of Lee’s Summit that has been recently revitalized. It depicts a clock, which is timeless. It depicts the past, present and future, connecting those together. It also shows the repurposed buildings that make use of history, which shows resilience in the community and what can be a benefit to the community. With time, our community can connect and rise from the difficult times we find ourselves in.

Beth Martens
Born and raised in Lee's Summit, MO, graduating in the class of 1981. Went on to study Visual Communications and Illustration at the University of Kansas.
Enjoying a creative career, working in layout and design, digital illustration and currently - Marketing.
Married for 34 years with 3 grown children, 2 sons and a daughter.
In January 2020, began to focus on watercolor painting, spending the past 2 years honing my skills, while taking on commission work and entering local shows.
