When the average person hears about endangered animals, they tend to think of them as distant and exotic species like tigers, elephants, and zebras but forget about the ones that are right in our backyard. I believe that this is due not to a lack of empathy, but a lack of education. The first step to preventing the disappearance of these animals is to first learn about who they are. My hope is that Kansas Citians will look into the eyes of these animals, research their personalities, and join me in trying to make a change for our community.
Each species is named on the heart itself.
