"This heart sculpture celebrates generosity, community, and growth—values at the core of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation’s mission to help individuals and families Grow Their Giving. 

Rooted in symbolism, the base of the heart is covered in real pennies, representing the foundational power of every gift—big or small—and honoring the countless acts of generosity that have shaped our region. From these copper “roots,” a tree trunk climbs upward, extending into branches and vines, crafted from the same pennies to reflect the strength and interconnectedness of community giving. 

Surrounding the trunk, a vibrant mosaic of broken tiles forms flourishing green leaves. Above it all, a radiant sky in shades of blue, orange, and/or yellow bursts with possibility and hope, evoking the energy and brightness generosity brings to Kansas City."
