Kansas City Has Heart
My heart celebrates Kansas City’s diversity and warmth with the word “Welcome” displayed in 88 languages representing our community - including ASL and Braille. A bold heart at the center highlights the word “ART,” surrounded by the KC skyline and the message “Kansas City Has Heart.” The design invites everyone—residents, visitors, and newcomers alike—to feel at home and part of our shared story.

The Collective Heart
I grew up in a creative home with a mother who taught art for over 30 years, which instilled in me a lifelong passion for making, creative problem solving, and upcycling. After earning my degree in Graphic Design, my professional work centered on logos, branding, and marketing, while my personal art evolved into more tactile forms—painting, mixed media, and now laser-engraved 3D creations. I’m inspired by this year's theme and the opportunity to showcase the strength in our diversity using the interplay of color, texture, materials, and languages - hoping to spark curiosity and encourage others to explore their own creativity.
