"Dekh magar pyar se" is a famous saying among Pakistanis, which translates to "look, but only with love." In other words, onlookers shouldn't be jealous but instead should look with a loving gaze. Kansas City is quickly growing, making waves, and breaking barriers with many game-changing developments. It's definitely the right time to be in the Heart of America. With that said, I ask the world to look at us, but only with love.

Maliha Khan was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Pakistan-immigrant parents. Like Ms. Marvel, Maliha's early childhood was spent in New Jersey until her family moved to the Midwest. Growing up in the Midwest came with challenges, as Maliha struggled to embrace her American-Muslim identity. But, while everything around her kept changing, Maliha's love for art and design remained constant. Art has always been a form of expression, and she loves creating art that marries her love for Kansas City and her Pakistani heritage.
