Magpie Collectors
This design features a mosaic-covered heart adorned with a 2D metal magpie perched on top and a “trinket trade” nest at its center. All decorative materials will be sourced through Magpie Creative Reuse, a local organization that promotes creative reuse and community engagement. The project invites Kansas Citians to reflect on the joy of found objects and the shared stories they carry.

Artist Spotlight

Alison Wood
I am an interdisciplinary designer whose artistic focus spans public art, product design, digital modeling, and digital fabrication. With a background that includes a BFA in Sculpture from KCAI, three years of apprenticeship at Rock Cottage Glassworks, graduate study in Interior Architecture, Furniture & Product Design at Kansas State University, and teaching experience as an Assistant Professor of Product Design at KCAI, I blend fine arts and industrial design in my work. My creative inspiration springs from sustainable materials, closed-loop design cycles, and the intersection of art and design in public environments.
