The Midtown Artifact
This design draws from the terra cotta tilework of a historical Art Deco landmark in Midtown Kansas City, built in 1929 by local architects McKecknie and Trask. By using 3D scanning and sculpting, the piece explores how technology can preserve and reinterpret fading details of the past, creating new forms from old surfaces. Embedded around a weathered circular heart, the tiles reflect the quiet entropy of our built world and the role of digital tools in sustaining memory, beauty, and civic identity.

YULTEK
I’m a multidisciplinary artist and fabricator based in Kansas City with 10+ years of experience designing and managing large scale public installs, from commercial signage and permanent sculptures to digital integrations with interactive new media. Currently working on a set of new personal works, I am exploring the relationship between traditional art and technology, and how we can utilize these new tools to document, preserve and recontextualize the relics of the past.
