Tom Watson

Tom Watson is a man of and character. He is just so kind. I loved being able to capture him doing what he does best. He always took his best shot. We need to take our best shot in life. He’s brought pride to KC and the game of golf. I sure hope I make him proud looking at his portrait representing Kansas City. I think everybody enjoys being out in nature, whether they're playing golf or hiking or whatever. And I think following a game of golf, looking at the scenery, watching people - sometimes people deem that as a one-person sport. It's not. It really helps us come together and watch somebody doing what they love. And again, taking their best shot in life.

Jeanette Parsons

"I am a former secondary art educator for Lee’s Summit School District having taught 32 years and retiring nearly 14 years ago. I graduated from Pittsburg State University with a BS in Education and received my Masters Degree in Painting from UMKC. I primarily taught Drawing and Painting and was an Adjunct Professor for UMKC. I was honored as Lee’s Summit Teacher of Year and Semi- Finalist for Missouri Teacher of the Year. Throughout the years I’ve had numerous art commissions with players from the Chiefs, Royals, and many other national sport professionals including the Woodlands Racetrack. Today I am happily retired and enjoying painting, travel and life with my family and friends. I am most honored knowing that several of my former art students from Lee’s Summit have become successful and were also chosen to be a part of the KC Heart Parade. As an educator it doesn’t get much better than that and I am so proud. (Jenny McCall, Ashley Corbello, Jeremy Collins, Suze Ford, Erica Bennett and Aaron Ross) are names I can think of."
