Two States, One City

This sculpture represents the connection between Kansas and Missouri as the foundation of Kansas City, using sacred geometry, bold color, and symbolism to express unity and shared identity. The circle and heart shape guide the flow of the piece, symbolizing wholeness and connection. The color palette blends personal symbolism with colors inspired by local sports teams—blue (wisdom/state line), green (renewal), yellow (intuition), orange (balance), red (energy), and turquoise (connection/rivers)—creating a visual bridge between place, meaning, and community.

I am a Kansas City–based artist known for my abstract paintings and ceramic work, with over 35 years of exhibition experience in both local and national juried shows. For the past 27 years, I’ve also been dedicated to teaching high school art in the KC area. My work draws inspiration from sacred geometry, bold color, and symbolic form to explore themes of connection and transformation.
